Almost 15 years ago, Aldin, a fisherman in Cebu, met an unfortunate accident.   What he first thought was easy money when he ventured into dynamite fishing came with a very steep price: he lost both his eyesight and arms.

Dynamite fishing has long been prohibited due to safety issues and its ill effects on marine life.  But until now, many continue to lose limbs as a result of this illegal activity.

Still in the same area in Cebu, we met 24 year-old Mark and his 15 year-old brother, Allan. Their father was a fisherman who also lost a limb because of dynamite fishing.  Despite witnessing the fate that has befallen their father, they continue this dangerous fishing practice and even make their own explosives.
